On the morning of Tuesday 15 December 2015, at 11.03, Tim Peake launched into space on a Soyuz rocket to spend six months on board the International Space Station. Tim’s mission was named Principia, after Sir Isaac Newton’s work on the laws of motion. During Tim’s time in space, he ran scientific experiments for hundreds of researchers, went on a spacewalk, and inspired the next generation of space explorers through numerous activities, looking at topics such as coding, maths, fitness and nutrition.

The Science Museum would like to invite you to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Tim’s mission by building and then launching your very own rocket with us at 11.03 on Monday 15 December 2025.
