Marvels of Medicine activity trail – KS3-4

Print out the trail – you may want one copy for each child, one copy for each pair of children, or perhaps just one per small group for the adult group leader to keep.

Brief your adult helpers about how to use the trail.

You may also wish to print off copies of the museum map to help you find your way to Medicine: The Wellcome Galleries on level 1.

Bring pencils.

No other preplanning or equipment is required.

There is information and a labelled map in the trail to help you find seven different exhibits. At each object or display, use the questions and activities to encourage observation and discussion about the items and the science underlying them.

The trail can be followed in any order, so you and your students can explore at your own pace and from any starting point.

It supports the teaching of Science with specific reference to Biology, Chemistry and Physics.

There are also opportunities for cross-curricular links to History, Design and Technology, Art and Design, and PSHE.
